Happy Half Year With A Little Spring!

Our little Capone is 6 months old now! I went to go weigh him today and he is 78 pounds and getting taller by the day! He can now do things that he wasn’t able to do before..

I can reach the water fountains like my friend Toby

Now if only they could make them so I can turn them on by myself!

I give Mom makeup and hair tips in the morning now that I can see her through the shiny thing!

And I can beg for Lily’s corndog and I dont even have to get up since I’m tall enough to lay my head on the sofa while laying down πŸ™‚

But the funnest part of Capone getting bigger is that he’s learning more tricks and obediance!

It was rather rainy last week, so I decided to teach him more things since we could only go outside for a little bit. It even hailed twice this weekend which was rather rare for our part of the country. So while Capone wanted to do this…

I taught him how to “kiss” and “shake” πŸ™‚ Check out the latest video!

When the storms finally passed, its as if Spring automatically turned on! All the trees in our neighborhood are blooming and its beautiful to go on our daily walks!

Enjoying the break in the weather!

Also, a few weeks back was our good friend Toby’s 2nd birthday! He is Capone’s bestie Dane friend who we hang out with quite often and we were invited to his party at the park. We all got a goodie bag with a treat and a squeaky ball! The goodie didnt last long but the squeaky ball was a hit! We stopped by our favorite store For Other Living ThingsΒ and picked Toby up some presents! We got him a new dog bowl, a massive rope toy and a doggie biscuit. Here are some pics of the afternoon..

Β Capone was hoping he would share his new toy!

Mandatory crazy-faces!

Rawr!

The Birthday Boy!

All that running wore him out!

We had a great time and it was nice to be able to celebrate with friends πŸ™‚

On a side note, speaking of celebrations.. I made a cake for a friend of mine this weekend for her son’s 8th birthday. He wanted a Sonic cake and of course, I jumped at the chance to make it for him.

Until next time!!!

Cats & Dogs.. Part 2

In my previous post, I was wondering out loud if Capone and Pepsi were ever going to get along and I’ve caught a glimpse of hope!! Not only is Pepsi no longer in SUCH a hurry to leave the living room (where Capone usually hangs out) but she’s tolerating and perhaps trying to work out a common ground with him. Don’t get me wrong, there’s still quite a few hissing and swatting at him, but it seems as if Pepsi is curious enough to want to stay and check things out rather than just making a mad dash to get out of his sight. I caught a video of them trying to sort it out so to speak…

Β

After a few minutes, she came back… but this time Capone just wasnt interested in bugging her.. progress!!! Instead we practiced more of our “Shake” commands πŸ™‚

As soon as Capone stopped paying attention to her, they finally settled down and Capone let Pepsi have some of the sunlight..

Should I make a fuss and sniff at her?

Nah.. I’ll just take a little rest..

/insert me doing my happy dance!!!!!! YAY for small victories πŸ™‚

Valentine’s Love!

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone! I hope you all got a little extra love yesterday and more snuggles than usual πŸ™‚

Our day started with everyone getting up before the sun (ugh) and waiting patiently for the first stream of sun to crack through the blinds.

Greeting the day with his squeaky buddy.

Its part of our daily routine to welcome the sun. It’s almost as if he can’t start the day without doing the same thing. I’ve heard of most Danes being pretty lazy in the morning but not Capone! He is our drill sergeant and always makes sure never to miss a sunrise!

Ok the sun is up! Now we can start our day πŸ™‚

Since Josh goes to work before any of us get up, he had to leave my Valentine’s Day present waiting for me in the kitchen.

Josh knows I love flowers but hate to see them wither away when they’re cut so he got me a Stargazer Lily plant!

And of course a beautiful card as well πŸ™‚

Capone was very curious about the flowers in the kitchen but good boy knew that he wasnt allowed to cross over the baby gate.

Getting his Valentine’s love πŸ™‚

Lily made sure to give our kitty, Pepsi, love too!

She’s a big fan of the sun as well! For those who are wondering, she is a Sphynx and completely hairless other than a tiny bit on her tail and a smidge on the top of her head. She’s 12 years old and not very tolerant of Capone wanting to play/wrestle with her all the time.

That’s why she’s not in very many pictures πŸ™‚

Capone even got to enjoy some flowers of his own on our walk that morning!

Lily had school that morning, and a Valentine’s Party at her preschool so of course we got a flood of Valentine’s when we got home. I helped her make her own Valentine card for Josh. It turned out so cute. Here is a picture of it.

Those were all her answers πŸ™‚

Picture of Josh complete with glasses and facial hair.

Josh and I celebrated with getting some take-out from our favorite Italian restaurant, Frankie Johnny & Luigi’s.Β We made sure to get it after the kids had gone to bed so that we could have a nice meal without all the usual child interruptions πŸ™‚ We were so hungry and anxious to have some time alone that I forgot to take pictures of our meals or any pictures of us for that matter!

I did however get a really cute video of Capone trying to eat some bubbles Lily got in her Valentines stash.

Hope everyone had as much fun and love as we did!
